Key phrase per page
For key phrases of 2-4 words in length, 2-3 key phrases is generally the maximum number you can target per page and should be one of the factors you use in determining which phrases to target on each page.
For instance, if the visible text content already features a key phrase you have identified as being one you wish to target, it makes sense to utilise this phrase and perhaps add in one additional complementary phrase.
