The Challenge

Historic UK provides a website for users to search for short stay accomodation including castles, haunted B&Bs and other venues of particular historical interest. Our first deliverable was a new visual identity, before planning, designing, building and optimising a new website. The existing site was well established and, as a result of providing peripheral content relating to history and heritage for many years, was ranking well in the search engines. The key challenges were therefore to retain (or indeed approve upon) those rankings by keeping the core linking structure, but to re-architect the site to improve the navigation and user experience. The new branding and design has been very well received and we have seen a huge increase in visits and also the time spent by each user since re-launching earlier in 2012.
