Founded in 1997, Marshall Wace is one of Europe's largest hedge fund managers with offices in London, the USA and Hong Kong.
With an expanding global client base requiring rapid access to up-to-date market information and investment news, NBV were briefed to conduct a complete redesign of the site including a review and refresh of the corporate branding and overhaul of the investor login area.
As a first step, NBV worked closely with the web team at Marshall Wace to gain an in-depth understanding of how the business was structured, its portfolio of funds and the data required by their clients. In such a heavily regulated industry the accuracy and availability of investment data is of vital importance so we needed to be clear on how the data was obtained, its source and structure so we could then make proposals in terms of the site’s architecture.
Once the data had been scoped, our Information Architects got to work on mapping out how the new site would look by creating an intuitive and user friendly format encapsulated within a prototype. Once this stage had been completed, it was then the turn of our designers and development teams to take the project forward so it translated into a modern, sleek and professional site that portrayed a flavour of the services on offer while at the same time, provided a visually appealing and functional clientzone hub for investors.
The site was launched in October 2011. The end result has been a modern, user friendly and highly functional site that works on 2 main levels: it provides the Marshall Wace web team with an easy to update CMS, while at the same time offers their customers a user friendly and secure client hub area to view their investment portfolio and make contact with their account manager
